Customers come to us with their cable assembly requirements in many different forms:
- A drawing, full bill of materials and a sample cable assembly
- Just a Bill of Materials
- Just a sample
- Just a bill of materials and an explanation of what is required
- A design Concept for a new project but no firm information
If we receive all of the information as in item 1 above, this makes our job very easy to quote the customer and to make a 1 off sample for approval of our workmanship.
If we receive partial information like examples 2 – 4 above, we need to delve into the exact requirements with the customer to identify parts and lengths etc to enable us to create work instructions, bills-of-materials, internal drawings, internal photography and finally a quote and sample for approval (where possible).
It is usually at this stage that we would make suggestions for improvements where we felt it would refine the production and appearance of the cable assembly.
If a customer comes to us with example 5, when they are at the design and development stage, we can offer expert advice. Our design knowledge is arguably unrivalled due to our distribution of connectors and the technical know how that goes hand-in-hand with this. In addition to this, our successful cable assembly division can make recommendations for your specific application and industry sector requirements.
